WHAT IS THE KC MARK FOR TYRE?

The KC (Korea Certification) mark signifies compliance with Korea’s product safety requirements for Tyre products and is issued by Korea-based certification bodies that have been approved by the Korea Standards Association. Manufacturers and distributors of Tyre goods may apply a KC mark to their goods once they have completed the standard procedure:

• The application process It involves the submission of an application form and product description. In case of voluntary safety check for Tyre product those are required to be prepared:
  • Application (2 copies, attached sheet no. 12 form (Korean ver. Only))
  • Business registration certificate copy
  • Product instructions
    • Instructions should be in the Korean language.
    • Where there is no instruction form, the labeling details may be substituted.
    • Address of manufacturer (written in English for foreign origin products)
    • All labeling details should be fully entered in the instructions.
    • Product photos (1 copy)
  • Safety test results of relevant industrial products (Application for voluntary safety checkups includes a request for simultaneous safety testing and no additional documentation is needed but preparation should be made for testing requests.)
  • Submit manufacturer’s in-house test reports
• Product testing
  The product is tested consistent with the requirements of the applicable safety standard(s). If the tyre product has been approved by European approval it could be exempted for the testing.

WHY IS THE KC MARK IMPORTANT?

South Korea is one of the world’s leading markets for automotive and their components. Tyre Products which does not have KC certification may be denied entry into the country, and manufacturers of non-certified products found on the market could be subject to penalties. Testing your products for compliance with KC certification requirements ensures legal market access to Korea, as well as acceptance by Korean Tyre product buyers.

  • A type: Endurance, High speed test plus bead unseat & Plunger
  • B type: Endurance, High speed test

KOREA LABELING SYSTEM FOR TYRE PRODUCT
